Tony-Winning Producer’s Picasso, Posters Head to Christie’s

(Bloomberg) -- Terry Allen Kramer, known as a Tony Award-winning producer of “Hello, Dolly!” and “Kinky Boots,” was also an avid collector of art and decorative objects.

Months after her death in May, the works that filled Kramer’s waterfront estate La Follia in Palm Beach, Florida, and a Manhattan penthouse are heading to auction, Christie’s said Thursday. They will be offered in a series of sales starting in October.

The top lot is Pablo Picasso’s 1968 painting “Buste d’homme,” estimated at $9 million to $12 million. A verdant garden scene by Camille Pissarro from 1892 could bring $4 million to $6 million. Both will be offered at Christie’s evening sale of Impressionist and modern art on Nov. 11.

On Oct. 16, Christie’s will offer more than 150 lots of English and European furniture, silver, porcelain and Broadway show posters. A pair of George III blue-green and white painted armchairs from the living room at La Follia, near President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, are estimated at $3,000 to $5,000.

Born in 1933, Kramer was the daughter of financier Charles Allen Jr., who founded the investment firm Allen & Co. Earlier this summer, La Follia reportedly sold for about $105 million.
