JPMorgan's Dimon Says Tax Bill Represents `Significant Progress'

(Bloomberg) -- Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s chief executive officer, released the following statement Thursday about new tax legislation introduced by the U.S. Congress in his role as chairman of the Business Roundtable.

"If we are serious about growing the economy, creating jobs and increasing wages for all Americans, this country needs a modernized tax code. It is that simple,” Dimon said. “While the tax reform bill released today deserves close analysis, it is significant progress toward achieving these goals. Congress and the Administration clearly appreciate the importance of getting pro-growth tax reform finished, how it will improve the economic security of all Americans and how it will give American companies the ability to compete equally in the global economy. We support this tax reform effort because it is good for all Americans."
