National insurance is committed to the cause of promoting Road Safety Awareness across the country. In adherence to this stated objective, National Insurance in association with Kolkata Police presented the SDSL Half Marathon in Kolkata on 7th January 2018.
This was the largest marathon of its kind with runners participating in three categories namely 5K, 10K and 21K segments. A total of approx. 10000+ runners participated in all three categories combined.
The cross section of people participating from students, housewives, teachers, professionals to amateur runners, sportspersons, professional runners as well as servicemen boosted the event to the biggest of its kind in Eastern India.
The runners were flagged off from Red Road by Shri K Sanath Kumar, CMD, National Insurance who was present on the dias along with the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata and other dignitaries and celebrities.
As a goodwill gesture, Shri K Sanath Kumar, CMD, NIC and all other senior management members of the company participated in the 5K segment. National Insurance was proud to partner with Kolkata Police in this noble initiative to spread the important public awareness message on road safety.
