Want to Trade Apple Suppliers? Asian Market Holidays Limit Your Choices

(Bloomberg) -- Looking to trade stocks of Apple’s suppliers around its earnings report this afternoon? Be prepared for a shorter list of companies to choose from this quarter.

Market holidays will prevent trading in much of Asia, where a large portion of the iPhone maker’s suppliers are based. The Shanghai Stock Exchange will be closed through May 4 for Labour Day and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange won’t reopen until May 2. The Tokyo Stock Exchange has been closed all week and won’t reopen until May 7. In addition, exchanges in South Korea, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are closed on May 1.

It’s the same story for Apple’s semiconductor suppliers in Europe. Most markets across the continent are closed on Wednesday for Labour Day, with the exception of the U.K. and Denmark.
