Vedanta Approves Second Interim Dividend For The Fiscal Year

Vedanta approves an interim dividend of Rs 13.5 per share, amounting to Rs 5,019 crore.

Vedanta Ltd. has approved an interim dividend of Rs 13.50 per equity share for financial year 2021-22. In an exchange filing, Vedanta said that the record date for the purpose of payment of dividend is December 18.

The interim dividend of Rs 13.50 per share will amount to an outgo of Rs 5,019 crore, the company said.

Vedanta's promoters, who have a shareholding of 65.18% in the company, will see an inflow of Rs 3,271 crore as part of the second interim dividend.

This is the second interim dividend approved by the company for this financial year. On Sept. 1, 2021, the company had approved an interim dividend of Rs 18.5 per share, amounting to an outgo of Rs 6,877 crore. Of this, promoters took home Rs 4,482 crore.

Vedanta paid Rs 3,471.3 crore as dividend in FY21.

On Dec. 7,2021, Vedanta subsidiary Hindustan Zinc had approved an interim dividend of Rs 18 per share on face value of Rs 2 per share for the financial year, totaling Rs 7,605.57 crore.
