Stocks To Watch: GAIL, Hindalco, Inox Leisure, M&M, Oil India, Pfizer

Here are the stocks to watch in trade today.

Indian equity markets ended higher for the sixth straight day, and in the process, ending at record high levels.

The S&P BSE Sensex ended 1.7% or 700 points higher at 42,597. The NSE Nifty 50 index too ended at a record high, ending 1.6% higher at 12,461.

Here are the stocks to watch in trade today:

  • Pfizer: Early findings showed the vaccine being developed by the company and BioNTech SE protects most people from Covid-19. The shot prevented more than 90% of symptomatic infections in the trial of tens of thousands of volunteers, the most encouraging scientific advance so far in the battle against the coronavirus.
  • HDFC has reduced its retail prime lending rate on housing loans, on which its adjustable rate home loans are benchmarked, by 10 basis points, with effect from Nov. 10. The change is applicable to all existing HDFC retail home loan customers
  • Tata Steel has signed a memorandum of understanding to procure their complete domestic zinc requirements from Hindustan Zinc. The undertaking is for the highest quantity to be ever signed by Hindustan Zinc at around 45 KT of zinc and other value-added metals. Under this agreement Hindustan Zinc will cater to both Tata Steel & Tata Steel BSL.
  • HFCL received a letter of award worth Rs 678.50 crore from Larson & Toubro for supply of IT equipment, software solutions and associated equipment.
  • JB Chemical & Pharma: Promoter Tau Investments created pledge of 3.4 crore shares (44% equity stake). Pledged stake increased from 10% to 54%. Condition required to obtain financing for the acquisition of equity shares of the promoter Tau Holdco by Tau Investments.
  • Birla Tyres: Anirban Moulik to resign from post of CFO with effect from Nov. 18.
  • Engineers India to consider buyback on Nov. 12.
  • TCS to acquire 100% stake in Postbank Systems from Deutsche Bank.
  • Inox Leisure has launched QIP Issue at Rs 263.1 per share. Issue opened on Nov. 9 and QIP floor price set at a discount of 1.42% to the closing prices on Nov. 9. As per SEBI regulation, company may offer a discount of not more than 5% on the floor price. Panel is scheduled to meet on or after Nov. 12 to consider the date of closing QIP and issue price for sale.
  • Punjab & Sind Bank to issue/allot equity shares aggregating up to Rs 6,000 crore by way of follow on public offer, right issue or qualified institutional placement(s) / preferential issue or any other mode or a combination(s) thereof in one or more tranches within a period of 12 months on Nov. 12.
  • Dalmia Bharat and Sugar Industries: Board has given in-principal approval to the expansion of sugar and distillery capacities. The overall cane crushing capacity is planned to be increased approximately by 5,000 TCD and distillery production is planned to be increased around 15 crore litres from currently 8 crore litres over a period of 2-3 years. The capital expenditure for the above mentioned expansion is estimated to be Rs 412 crore which will be financed partly by way of internal accruals and partly through debt.

  • Revenue down 32.5% at Rs 2,169 crore versus Rs 3,213.6 crore (Est Rs 2,116 crore)
  • Net profit down 61.9% at Rs 239 crore versus Rs 627.2 crore (Est Rs 150 crore)
  • Ebitda down 40.7% at Rs 737.4 crore versus Rs 1,242.8 crore (Est Rs 485 crore)
  • Margins at 34% versus 38.7% (Est 22.9%)
  • Exceptional loss of Rs 134 crore in current quarter due to blowout in an oil producing well

JK Cement Q2 (Standalone, YoY)

  • Revenue up 23.6% at Rs 1,550.7 crore versus Rs 1,254.2 crore (Est Rs 1,484 crore)
  • Net profit up 2.1 times at Rs 223.5 cr versus Rs 108.8 crore (Est Rs 150 crore)
  • Ebidta up 61.7% at Rs 410.7 crore versus Rs 254 crore (Est Rs 312 crore)
  • Margins at 26.5% versus 20.3% (Est 21%)

Eid Parry Q2 (Consolidated, YoY)

  • Revenue up 2.84% at Rs 5,836.2 crore versus Rs 5,675 crore
  • Net profit up 75% at Rs 317.8 crore versus Rs 181.6 crore
  • Ebidta up 33% at Rs 875.6 cr versus Rs 658.3 crore
  • Margins at 15% versus 11.6%
  • Margins improve due to better realisations and cost reduction measures
