Stocks To Watch: Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, Infosys, NMDC, ONGC, TVS Motor

Here are the stocks to watch in trade today.

Asian stocks climbed in early trading Wednesday after another record high for their U.S. peers as tech shares advanced and investors snapped up work-from-home winners.

Stocks saw modest gains in Japan, Australia and South Korea. S&P 500 futures rose after a climb in Apple Inc. again pulled the benchmark to an all-time high. The Singapore-traded SGX Nifty, an early indicator of the Nifty 50 Index’s performance in India, rose 0.3% to 11,539 as of 7:00 a.m.

Stocks To Watch: Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, Infosys, NMDC, ONGC, TVS Motor

Here are the stocks to watch in trade today:

  • Telecom stocks: Supreme Court AGR judgment said that 10% upfront payment due by March 2021 is on total dues. This indicates those telcos who have already paid 10% or more of total dues will have to make next payment in 2022.
  • Infosys has increased U.S. hiring commitment to 25,000 jobs by 2022.Company will hire 12,000 American workers over the next two years. Till date company has created 13,000 jobs in U.S.A and will target experienced technology professionals as well as recent graduates from major universities, liberal arts colleges, and community colleges.
  • Coal India: August coal production up 7.1% at 37.17 MT. Coal offtake up 9.3% at 44.34 MT. Company plans to invest Rs 1.22 lakh crore on 500 projects by 2023-24 related to coal evacuation, infra, project development, exploration and clean coal technologies. Coal India would invest Rs 14,200 crore by 2023-24 in two phases for 49 first mile connectivity projects.
  • NMDC: August iron ores sales at 1.79 MT versus 1.49 MT. Production of iron ore stood at 1.62 MT versus 1.41 MT.
  • Indian Oil Corporation to invest Rs 1,268 crore for Grassroot Needle Coker Unit at Paradip Refinery, in Odissa. Company will be entering the niche product segment for the first time. Calcined Needle Coke used to produce graphite electrodes for deployment in the high temperature electric arc furnaces of steel industry.
  • Mukand: Board approved sale of upto 51% stake in company’s arm Mukand Sumi Special Tubes to promoter group over a period of 12 months at a consideration of not less than Rs 571.91 per share aggregating to Rs 1,212.95 crore.
  • Embassy Office Parks REIT: Board approved issuance of NCDs worth Rs 1,500 crore in one or more tranches.
  • Apollo Hospitals has demerged its standalone pharmacy business and will be known as Apollo Medicals. Both entities have filed certified copies of respective NCLT orders sanctioning the scheme with Registrar of Companies. Effective date of scheme is Sept.1.
  • Cosmo Films: Board approved resuming further investment into the new line for Specialized BOPET film at Aurangabad plant which was on hold since November 2018. The revised project cost will be Rs.300 crore and will be financed through a mix of internal accruals and loans. The commercial production will commence by the second quarter of fiscal 2023.
  • JSW Energy: Pritesh Vinay appointed as the CFO of the company with effect from Sept.16.
  • Just Dial: Board approved proposal to amend clause in the memorandum of association of the company, where the company intends to enable online and offline distribution of assurance products, mutual funds, and other financial products on its platforms.
  • V-Mart Retail to consider raising capital on Sept. 5.

August Auto Sales

  • Hero MotoCorp domestic two-wheeler sales up 7.55% at 584,456 units.
  • TVS Motor total sales down 1% at 287,398 units.
  • Atul Auto sales down 64.4% at 1,311 units.
  • VST Tiller Tractors power tillers sales up 84% at 2,638 units and tractors sales up 10% at 897 units.

ONGC Q1 (Standalone, QoQ)

  • Revenue down 39.4% at Rs 13,011.3 crore (Est Rs 13,925 crore)
  • Net profit at Rs 496 crore versus Net loss at Rs 3,098.3 crore (Est Net loss at Rs 54.3 crore)
  • Ebidta down 31.2% at Rs 5,907.7 crore (Est Rs 5,108 crore)
  • Margins at 45.4% versus 40% (Est 36.7%)
  • Impairment loss of Rs 4,899.1 crore seen in base quarter
