Asian stocks were mixed and Treasuries trimmed losses Thursday as investors evaluated Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s signal of a March interest-rate liftoff and the possibility of hikes at each policy meeting.

The Singapore-traded SGX Nifty, an early indicator of India's Nifty 50 Index's performance, fell 1.48% to 16,966 as of 7:00 a.m.
