Here are the stocks to watch in trade today.

Asian stocks gained Thursday after U.S. peers briefly surpassed their all-time closing high, led by surging technology shares. The dollar weakened and Treasury yields traded at five-week highs. Shares in Japan, South Korea and Australia opened higher.

Here are the stocks to watch in trade today:

  • Subhash Sheoratan Mundra appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of Indiabulls Housing Finance. Mundra is a former Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India and currently an Independent director at Indiabulls Housing Finance. Sameer Gehlaut has relinquished the post of Executive Chairman of Indiabulls Housing Finance and will continue as non-executive, non-independent director. He will be the Chief Executive Officer at Indiabulls Ventures.
  • Tata Power: Board approved merger of wholly-owned arms Coastal Gujarat Power (Mundra UMPP) and Tata Power Solar System (Solar EPC business) and Af-Taab Investment with self, along with capital reorganization after merger. Coastal Gujarat Power to get direct support from parent company upon merger. Board also approved withdrawal of scheme of transfer of certain renewable energy undertakings from the company to its arms Tata Power Renewable Energy, Supa Windfarm, Nivade Windfarm and Tata Power Green Energy on a slump sale basis. Board will consider other alternatives for restructuring its renewable energy business. Fund’s in company’s general reserves are in excess of business needs of the company for the foreseeable future and will be used to reward shareholders, as stated in a press release.
  • Coal India is seeking a 15% reduction in railway freight charges for shipments traveling 700 km-1,400 km to make domestic supplies competitive with imports, it said in an emailed statement. Domestic coal is considerably cheaper than the imported fuel, but taxes and freight make it less competitive for some customers, especially in the southern and western parts of the country.   • Apollo Hospitals: NCLT Chennai approved demerger of the front end portion of standalone pharmacy business of the company into its arm Apollo Pharmacies.
  • Thermax: MD and CEO M.S. Unnikrishnan to retire on Aug 31. Ashish Bhandari will be the new MD and CEO.
  • Brigade Enterprises: Board approved raising up to Rs 500 crore via equity shares and debt. Company expects construction to resume at 100% levels by the end of the third quarter of fiscal 2021.
  • ICRA: LIC decreased its stake from 9.27% to 6.54% from Sept. 2019 to Aug. 11.
  • Britannia Industries has allotted commercial papers worth Rs 300 crore.
  • Dixon Tech: SBI MF decreased their stake from 4.9% to 4.39% on Aug. 11
  • Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services: Rights issue was subscribed approximately 1.3 times, resulting in a demand generation of over Rs. 4000 crores. (target was Rs 3,088.82 crore).
  • Indostar Capital Finance: Board approved raising Rs 1,000 crore via issue of NCDs in various tranches.
