Asian stocks dropped after a tumble on Wall Street, where worries about a surge in virus cases in multiple U.S. states spurred a flight from riskier assets. The dollar extended Wednesday’s gains. Japan’s Topix index opened about 1% lower and Australian shares slid after the S&P 500 declined 2.6%. Treasuries kept an overnight advance.

Here are the stocks to watch in trade today:

  • Bharti Infratel has extended long stop date for Indus Towers deal till August 31.Board said that conditions precedent to be fulfilled for the Indus Tower merger to become effective cannot be completed by June 24.Each party retains the right to terminate and withdraw from the scheme.
  • Reliance Industries: CCI has approved acquisition of 9.99% stake in Jio Platforms by Facebook’s arm Jaadhu Holdings.
  • BPCL to raise Rs 3,000 crore during fiscal 2021 via NCDs.
  • IOC said that Paradip refinery will be shut for maintenance and the company expects refineries to achieve 100% utilization by year end.
  • Andhra Paper’s promoter International Paper Investments to sell 39.77 lakh shares (10% equity) via offer for sale, with an option to sell additional 28.64 lakh shares (7.2% equity) at a floor price of Rs 186 per share, which is at a discount of 20% to closing price as June 24. International Papers Investments can come down from 20% to 2.8%, if the over subscription option is used. Trade date for non-retail investors is June 25 and for retail investors it is June 26.
  • Page Industries on Covid-19 impact: Company’s manufacturing operations, in all 15 facilities,have resumed work on different dates from May 4. The response from the market has been healthy. As restrictions get lifted in the market, expect to get back the momentum and accelerate in the coming quarters.
  • Fitch Ratings has revised the Outlook on Power Finance Corporation, REC to Negative from Stable, and has affirmed the Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating at BBB-.
  • Embassy Parks REIT: Blackstone Group has raised $302 million via a minority stake sale in an Indian real estate investment trust mostly to pay back its investors. The U.S. private equity firm sold 6.7 crore units in Embassy Office Parks REIT at Rs 341 each, according to terms obtained by Bloomberg News. It will continue to remain the largest shareholder in the REIT, even as its stake drops to 46.6% from 55.3%. The Capital Group, Canada-based CI Investments and ICICI Prudential Asset Management added to their holdings, while Nomura Asset Management., Brookfield Asset Management, Norges Bank and Prusec are some of the new investors in Embassy Parks REIT.
