Good Morning!

The Nifty 50 posted its best monthly gain since April this year, clocking double-digit gains as it scaled an all-time high. It was also the best November for the index since 2005.

Indian equities will resume trading after a holiday on Monday, and futures are pointing towards a subdued start to the truncated week. The Singapore-traded SGX Nifty, an early indicator of the Nifty 50 Index’s performance in India, was little changed at 12,998 as of 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

A slew of economic data such as auto sales for November and Manufacturing PMI will be in focus as the new month begins. The market may also react to GDP data released after market hours on Friday. The Indian economy contracted for the second straight quarter, albeit at a slower pace, plunging into a technical recession.

Globally, Asian markets are trading higher this morning, with benchmark indices in Japan, Australia and South Korea advancing. Gains in Hong Kong are more modest.
