U.S. futures advanced and oil prices retreated to $103/barrel after reports that the Biden administration was considering a massive release of crude from U.S. reserves to combat inflation.

Asia stocks were mixed. Japan’s equities pared losses, while Australia and South Korea gained. The S&P 500 snapped a four-day winning streak while the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 fell after ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine stalled. Singapore-traded SGX Nifty, an early barometer of India's benchmark Nifty 50, fell 0.13% to 17,544 points as of 6:25 am.

Russia said talks with Ukraine yielded no breakthroughs and that it was regrouping forces in a push to complete the takeover of the eastern Donbas region. Germany said Russia has backed off its demand that natural gas purchases be made in rubles, with a payment mechanism being worked out. Elsewhere, bitcoin hovered around $47,300.

Stocks To Watch

  • Axis Bank: The bank will acquire Citibank’s India Consumer Business from Citibank N.A. and the NBFC Consumer Business from Citicorp Finance for Rs 12,325 crore.

  • ONGC: The company will exercise oversubscription option for offer for sale and sell 0.75% stake in addition to the base offer representing 0.75% equity.

  • Hindustan Aeronautics: Government approves procurement of 15 Light Combat Helicopters from the company for Rs 3,887 crore along with infrastructure sanctions worth Rs 377 crore.

  • IndiGo: The company’s chief commercial officer Willy Boulter to quit after July, Bloomberg reported.

  • Tata Motors: India's largest automaker received the first tranche of Rs 7,500 crore investment for its new passenger electric vehicle subsidiary from TPG Rise Capital.

  • Mahindra and Mahindra: The company has increased its stake in ReNew Sunlight Energy from 31.2% to 37.2%

  • Nazara Technologies: The company’s Singapore arm will invest $2.5 million in Bitkraft Funds.

  • Pidilite: The company received NCLT approval for amalgamation of Pidilite Adhesives into Pidilite Industries.

  • Info Edge: The company’s wholly owned subsidiary Allcheckdeals India has invested Rs 137.12 crore in 4B Networks increasing its shareholding to 57.16%.

  • Sundaram Fastners: The company has received approval from Ministry of Heavy Industries under PLI scheme. It will invest Rs 350 crore for making advanced automotive technology components.

  • Godrej Properties: The company has acquired nine-acre land parcel in the residential micro-market of Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune.

  • Bharat Forge: The company will consider raising funds on April 2.

  • Birla Corporation: The company’s wholly owned subsidiary RCCPL’s Mukutban Integrated Cement Plant has started clinker dispatch.

  • Gulshan Polyols: The company has received NCLT approval for amalgamation of Gulshan Holdings and East Delhi Importers and Exporters with the company.

  • Tata Steel: The company transferred its entire stake in Tata Steel SEZ to Tata Steel Utilities in exchange of 55.11 lakh equity shares of TSUISL at price of Rs 215 per equity share. The company also executed Asset Transfer Agreement with Stork Ferro and Mineral Industries for acquisition of two 16.5 MVA furnaces for Rs 155 crore. The company also invested Rs 11,700 crore by subscribing to 0.01% Non-Convertible Redeemable Preference shares.

  • Cosmo Films: The company will invest Rs 134 crore in CPP line at company's existing manufacturing plant located at Aurangabad, Maharashtra with annual rated production capacity of 25,000 MT.

  • Allcargo Logistics: The company has executed Business Transfer agreement with JM Baxi Heavy for sale of Project Logistics Business division on slump sale basis for a consideration of Rs 98.64 crore.

  • Dishman Carbogen Amcis: The company names Pascal Villemagne as CEO.

  • GMR Infrastructure: GMR Enterprises sold 18 million shares of GMR Infrastructure on March 28

  • Hindustan Motors: Says in pact with Hiranandani for 50 acres of land
