NTPC Raises Rs 4,300 Crore Via Bonds, To Use The Funds For Capex

The NTPC bonds will be listed on the National Stock Exchange and the BSE.

NTPC Ltd. has raised Rs 4,300 crore through bonds and all of these funds will be used for capital expenditure and general corporate requirements, the public sector power utility said on Monday.

The NTPC bond issue received bids of Rs 9,359.90 crore against a base size of Rs 500 crore with a greenshoe option to retain oversubscription of up to Rs 4,000 crore and a tenure of 10 years, the company said. It has decided to retain an aggregate amount of Rs 4,300 crore at a coupon of 7.32 per annum.

The bidding for the bond issue took place on the BSE's electronic debt-bidding platform between 10:30 am and 11.30 am on Monday.

The bonds will be listed on the National Stock Exchange and the BSE.

On Monday, NTPC shares fell 0.23 percent to Rs 127.90 apiece on the BSE while the benchmark Sensex gained 0.41 percent to end the day at 38,896.71 points.
