Future Retail Ltd., the operator of the Big Bazaar chain of stores, doesn’t foresee the need for price cuts to maintain market share, its Joint Managing Director Rakesh Biyani said.

“We’re confident that prices in Big Bazaar are the lowest,” Biyani told BloombergQuint in an interaction. He said that if customers find the same product at lower prices elsewhere, the stores would pay them the cost difference.

“There’s a great balance between the grocery and the non-grocery categories and our margins continue to remain strong,” Biyani said.
