FPIs Stay Net Sellers For The Fifth Straight Day

Foreign portfolio investors offloaded stocks worth Rs 3,408.9 crore, according to provisional data from the NSE.

Overseas investors remained net sellers of Indian equities on Friday for the fifth consecutive session. Foreign portfolio investors offloaded stocks worth Rs 3,408.9 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

Domestic institutional investors stayed net buyers for the fifth day and mopped up equities worth Rs 4,356.8 crore, the NSE data showed.

Foreign institutions have been net buyers of Rs 4,589 crore worth of Indian equities so far in 2024, according to data from the National Securities Depository Ltd., updated till the previous trading day.

The NSE Nifty 50 settled 150.40 points, or 0.67%, lower at 22,419.95, and the S&P Sensex declined 609.28 points, or 0.82%, to end at 73,730.16.
