(Bloomberg) -- Citadel, the hedge fund firm run by billionaire Ken Griffin, made 3.3 percent last month in its flagship funds, according to a person with knowledge of the firm.

The gain extends the annual returns of the firm’s Kensington and Wellington funds to 10 percent this year, said the person. The performance was driven by equities, commodities, credit and quant strategies.

Citadel’s Tactical Trading fund is up 3 percent in April and 8.5 percent this year, and the Global Equities fund gained 2.6 percent last month and 5.6 percent for the year.

A spokesperson for Citadel, which is based in Chicago and manages more than $30 billion, declined to comment. CNBC reported the performance earlier Tuesday.
