Eight Tech Tycoons Lose $33 Billion This Year Amid Tencent Bust

(Bloomberg) -- Tencent Holdings Ltd.’s first profit drop in at least a decade came as a shock to investors, but founder Ma Huateng is far from the only Chinese tech mogul suffering from a reversal in sentiment. Eight Chinese technology billionaires, from NetEase Inc.’s William Ding to Lens Technology Co.’s Zhou Qunfei, have this year seen their fortunes shrink by a combined $33.3 billion -- an amount greater than the size of Latvia’s economy -- as investors soured on their companies.
