Maruti Suzuki Ltd. expects a higher sales growth rate in rural markets compared with urban areas backed by a good monsoon season.
India’s largest car maker sold 7.48 lakh units in the compact segment in FY18, an increase of 28 percent over the previous year. A key reason for the higher sales was the dramatic reduction in the waiting period for some of its popular models.
“The waiting period for some of the models like Swift DZire, Baleno and Brezza has come down to couple of weeks, much less than earlier,” Chairman RC Bhargava told BloombergQuint in an interview.
