Mid-cap technology companies, backed by consistent growth, offer better value compared to their large-cap peers, according to Tushar Pradhan, chief investment officer at HSBC Asset Management India.

The mid-cap IT universe could see an earnings upgrade, Pradhan told BloombergQuint in an interview. However, investors must continue to remain stock-specific in the sector, he added.

HSBC Asset Management remains overweight on financials, consumer discretionary and materials.

Besides, Pradhan expects companies engaged in the steel and aluminium sectors to do well despite U.S. President Donald Trump’ decision to impose import tariffs on imports of these commodities. "Higher prices globally mean higher margins for producers and intermediaries in the commodity sector in India."
