India Still Expensive Among Emerging Market Peers, Says Ashburton’s Jonathan Schiessl

Emerging markets look quite attractive compared to developed ones, says Jonathan Schiessl.

Emerging markets from a valuation perspective look quite attractive compared to developed ones, U.S., Jonathan Schiessl, chief investment officer at Ashburton Investments told BloombergQuint in an interview. Within that basket, India looks quite expensive, he added.

The government’s bank recapitalisation plan is another step in the right direction, Schiessl said. India is not at the risk of ratings downgrades with incremental reforms and significant domestic flows, he added.
