Eicher Motors October Sales Up 18% As Exports Double

Eicher Motors exported 1,478 units in October, an increase of 98 percent year-on-year.

Eicher Motors Ltd.’s sales surged 18 percent in October, as exports of the Royal Enfield maker nearly doubled during the month.

The company exported 1,478 units last month, an increase of 98 percent from the same period in 2016, according to its exchange filing.

Overall sales rose 18 percent to 69,492 units over the same month last year. The company sold 65,209 units of up to 350cc, an increase of 18 percent over the year-ago month, according to its exchange filing. Sales of models with higher engine capacity, rose 9 percent to 4,283 units year-on-year.

Shares of Eicher Motors fell as much as 3.8 percent to Rs 31,005 apiece, after the announcement.
