Eicher Motors Clocks 22% Sales Growth In August

The company sold 63,637 motorcycles with capacity up to 350cc, a jump of 29 percent.

Eicher Motors Ltd. clocked a 22-percent jump in sales for August, driven by demand for its Royal Enfield motorcycles with capacity up to 350 cc.

Total sales stood at 67,977 units, the company said in exchange filings. That beat BloombergQuint consensus estimate of 65,500 units.

The company sold 63,637 units of the Royal Enfield bikes motorcycles with capacity up to 350cc, a jump of 29 percent over the same month last year. Sales of models with capacity above 350 cc slumped 30 percent to 4,340 units year-on-year.

Eicher’s exports volume increased 12 percent to 1,105 units over July 2016.

Shares of the company were trading 0.79 percent higher at Rs 31,700 on the NSE as of 1.15 p.m.
