After many upgrades and refreshes through the years, this is Maruti's third generation DZire sedan launch. Maruti Suzuki has also decided to drop the 'Swift' tag from the DZire and hence from now on the sedan will be referred to as just the Dzire.

The diesel variant delivers a fuel efficiency of 28.4 kmpl, which makes New DZire India's most fuel efficient car, the company said in a release. The petrol variant delivers a fuel efficiency of 22.0 kmpl.

Maruti launched the DZire almost 9 years ago and since then it has captured almost 50 percent of the market share in the segment.

DZire is the second-best selling car in the country behind another Maruti product the Alto. Till date, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 13.81 lakh units of the popular compact sedan.

The new DZire is available with an auto gear shift (AGS) technology in all the six variants in both diesel and petrol.

The all-new car is based on Maruti Suzuki’s new ‘Heartect’ platform which has resulted in the overall weight reduction of the vehicle. As a result it is able to offer more space, superior safety and better fuel efficiency.

In terms of the overall design, there are some new features and equipment such as the auto LED headlamps, sleek design and a large display smart play infotainment system.
