Eros International’s Net Profit Rises 11.2% In First Quarter, Margins Expand

Eros international reports a profit of Rs 58.8 crore in for the first quarter.

Eros International Media Ltd.’s net profit for the April to June quarter rose 11.2 percent to Rs 58.8 crore from the same period last year.

Net sales decreased 13.6 percent to Rs 408.17 crore from the same quarter last year, the company said in a filing on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation declined 8.8 percent to Rs 81 crore from the same quarter last year. EBITDA margin expanded to 19.8 percent from 18.8 percent year on year.

Eros released 3 high budget, 2 medium budget and 9 small budget films in the quarter, and the portfolio of successful films released include Housefull 3, Ki and Ka, Sardaar Gabbar Singh (Telugu), 24 (Tamil), Nil Battey Sannata, amongst others, the company said in a separate press release.
