Full Wages Only For Employees On Duty Before Lockdown, Says Bombay High Court

A trade union representing 200 employees of Premier Ltd. had sought enforcement of MHA’s March 29 order on wage payments.

The Bombay High Court has ruled that the Ministry of Home Affairs’ order dated March 29, which directed employers to make full payment of wages without any deduction, won’t apply to workers engaged in an industrial dispute.It will cover only those workers who were in employment on the day of the lockdown and had received salary for the prior month, the court said.
