Wednesday’s U.S. Economy Data Delayed, Powell Hearing Canceled

(Bloomberg) -- The U.S. national day of mourning for President George H.W. Bush on Wednesday has delayed the release of public and private economic data as well as widely anticipated testimony to lawmakers by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Here are the details (all times U.S. eastern):

• Labor Department said the revised third-quarter report on productivity will move to Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
  • November employment report will be Friday at 8:30 a.m. as previously scheduled.
  • October job openings and labor turnover release will be Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. as scheduled.
• ADP Research Institute said it will postpone the National Employment Report to Thursday at 8:15 a.m.
• Institute for Supply Management will delay release of the Non-Manufacturing Index until Thursday at 10 a.m.
• IHS Markit said it will reschedule release of U.S. Services PMI and U.S. Composite PMI indexes to Thursday at 9:45 a.m.
  • Global Services PMI and Global Composite PMI delayed until Thu. at 11 a.m.
• Powell’s congressional testimony to the Joint Economic Committee in Washington was canceled. The panel said it’s working to reschedule the hearing.
• The Fed said the Beige Book, a regional economic survey, will be published as scheduled at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The Fed Board’s Washington offices will be closed, while bank payment systems will operate normally, it said.
