Sweden’s parliament will hold a hearing later on Tuesday to assess how the central bank views regulation and policies with respect to staff’s personal ownership of financial assets.

The finance committee has summoned Riksbank Governor Stefan Ingves, as well as the chair and deputy chair of the general council, to explain the “rules and guidelines for senior executives’ holdings of financial instruments,” according to a statement in the parliamentary agenda.

In October, Bloomberg News and Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet reported that Ingves and First Deputy Governor Cecilia Skingsley owned shares in Swedish companies whose corporate debt is also eligible for purchases under a quantitative-easing program established by the Riksbank.

Today’s hearing will also seek the views of Ingves and Deputy Governor Per Jansson regarding proposals for a new Riksbank act.
