Chinese Premier Li Stresses Need to Develop Virus Vaccine: CCTV
(Bloomberg) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang emphasized the need to develop effective drugs and vaccines to deal with the coronavirus, according to China’s CCTV.
Li made the comments during a visit to a medical research institute on Sunday, state media reported.
China Securities Journal earlier said that members of the China Association for Vaccines, including China National Biotec Corporation, are working on a vaccine to protect people from pneumonia caused by the deadly virus.
Hong Kong-listed CanSino Biologics Inc., Shenzhen-listed Hualan Biological Engineering Inc., Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products Co., Chongqing Zhifei Biological Products Company Ltd. and Shanghai-listed Liaoning Chengda Co. are also among the member companies working on the vaccine, according to the journal report.
