China Will Step Up Policy Steps to Achieve Goals, Xi Says: CCTV

(Bloomberg) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said authorities will step up policy adjustments to achieve this year’s economic and social goals while boosting efforts to control the coronavirus outbreak, state TV reported.

Production should be restored in an orderly manner, while regions with low risks from the epidemic should to revive output “comprehensively,” Xi was cited as telling officials in a teleconference.

The epidemic is still at a severe and complex level, and virus control is at a critical stage, Xi said. He reiterated that the positive trend for China’s long-term development is unchanged.

China’s top leaders said on Friday they will exercise more flexibility in monetary and fiscal policy.
