‘Tum Se Na Ho Payega’: Cong on PM’s First Press Conference Buzz
Times Now on Wednesday announced that PM Modi would be holding a press conference. However, it later retracted.
Congress on Wednesday, 24 April, took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the all-too-familiar topic of holding press conferences, saying “Tum se na ho payega” (You won’t be able to do it), after a faux pas was made by the news channel Times Now.

The channel set Twitterverse abuzz on Wednesday evening when it announced that PM Modi would be addressing a press conference on Friday, 26 April at 12:30 pm in Varanasi.

In a series of tweets, Times Now gave the details of the ‘press conference’, citing an ‘invite/leaflet/notice’ from the BJP. The channel’s editor-in-chief Rahul Shivshankar himself pointed out how the press conference was expected to take place at ‘Hotel Taj, Ganges’ in Varanasi.
The Retraction
But eventually, a follow-up tweet put out by Times Now said that the BJP has clarified that there would be no press conference scheduled for 26 April of PM Narendra Modi.

The issue of PM Modi not holding a single press conference during his tenure has been repeatedly used by the Opposition in its attacks against the government.

Between 25th and 26th April, thereâll be a roadshow, Ganga aarti, meet with intellectuals and influential persons of #Varanasi and filing of nomination.
We live in a time when news of the Indian Prine Minister holding something as basic and necessary as a press conference could not possibly be true. https://t.co/BPyEh7D2q3
