All prominent exit polls conducted for the Delhi’s 70-member Assembly election showed Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party retaining power with a healthy majority.

The India Today – Axis MyIndia exit poll projected the highest range for the AAP. It expects Kejriwal’s party to win 59-68 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party to get 2-11 seats and the Congress to draw a blank.

The ABP – CVoter survey projected the AAP to win anything between 49 and 63 seats and the BJP to get 5-19 seats. For the Congress, the upper range of this exit poll showed that the party might be able to open its account, unlike in 2015.

ABP’s projection is also in line with the Republic – Jan Ki Baat exit poll. This poll forecasts AAP winning 48-61 seats. While it projected the BJP to get between 9 and 21 seats, the Congress may, at the most, win a solitary seat as per this survey.

The Times Now – IPSOS poll expects the AAP to bag 55 seats, the BJP 14, and the Congress 1 seat.

In the capital’s legislative assembly, a party or alliance needs to secure 36 seats to form a government. In the 2015 election, the AAP had won 67 seats, the BJP got three, while the Congress drew a blank.

The AAP, according to these four exit polls, is expected to gather more than 50 percent of the ballots cast in Delhi through Saturday. The BJP’s vote share is projected to be in the range of 30-40 percent. The BJP has remained in that range for the last five Assembly elections. It crossed the 40-percent mark only in 1993.
