Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reconstituted NITI Aayog by inducting new cabinet ministers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reconstituted NITI Aayog by inducting new cabinet ministers.

The policy think tank—formed by the first Narendra Modi government after replacing Planning Commission—is chaired by the prime minister. Also, Rajiv Kumar has been retained in the post of vice chairperson by the government, according to a statement by the Press Information Bureau. Amitabh Kant, too, will continue as the chief executive officer till fresh order is issued for the post.

While the newly constituted NITI Aayog will have Amit Shah, Raj Nath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman, among others, as ex-officio members, Bibek Debroy has been dropped as a member of the body.

Debroy is the chairman of Prime Ministers Economic Advisory Council.
