Modi Replaces Divestment Secretary In Larger Bureaucratic Reshuffle

The government has appointed Tuhin Kanta Pandey as secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management.

The government has appointed Tuhin Kanta Pandey as secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management.

This came after incumbent DIPAM Secretary Anil Khachi was repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds, according to a government order.

It also appointed Pankaj Kumar, the current additional secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, as the chief executive officer of Unique Identification Authority of India. Revenue Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey so far headed the Aadhaar issuing authority.

Among others, Nagendra Nath Sinha, chairman of National Highways Authority of India, has been appointed as the secretary of the Department of Border Management under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Braj Raj Sharma, the department’s current secretary, has been named as the chairman of the Staff Selection Commission.

Some other appointments are:

  • Sanjeev Nandan Sahai, special secretary at the Ministry of Power, promoted as secretary at the ministry after Subhash Chandra Garg retires on Oct. 31.
  • Pramod Kumar Das, special secretary at the Department of Expenditure, named as secretary of Ministry of Minority Affairs.
  • Sailesh, secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, appointed as secretary of Department of Public Enterprises.
  • Rajesh Bhushan, additional secretary at Cabinet Secretariat, promoted as secretary (coordination) of Cabinet Secretariat.
  • Sunil Kumar, additional secretary at the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, promoted as special secretary at the same department.
