The proposal aimed to curb electoral funding in the Union Budget 2017 is very welcome, said Rahul Bajaj, Chairman, Bajaj Auto.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced a slew of steps to bring in transparency in political funding, which included setting the cash limit on donations to political parties at Rs 2,000. Political parties continue to receive most of their funds through anonymous donations, the finance minister said in his Budget speech.

“Rs 2,000 from Rs 20,000, so no amount of anonymous money is possible now,” Bajaj said.
