U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker, both former Democratic presidential candidates, said Sunday they tested positive for Covid-19.

“Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms & am grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated & boosted,” Warren said on Twitter.

She said she is tested regularly and had a negative result earlier this week. A test Sunday came back positive, she said.

Booker also said he had “relatively mild” symptoms on Saturday and tested positive the following day.

U.S. Representative Jason Crow also tested positive after a congressional visit to Ukraine.

More than 90 U.S. senators and representatives have tested positive since the start of the pandemic, according to the website GovTrack.com.

Omicron has been reported in most states and has pushed the number of infections to pandemic highs in several, including New York. Still, Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s top medical adviser, said an effective shutdown of the U.S. likely won’t be necessary though hospitals will be tested by the expected rush of cases from the variant.
