Tamil Nadu Reports More Than 30,000 New Cases
Tamil Nadu reported 30,055 Covid-19 cases and 48 deaths in the past 24-hours, ANI reported citing the state government.
Active cases in the state have now topped 2,11,270.
Maharashtra Records Over 33,000 Cases, 86 Deaths
Maharashtra recorded 33,914 new Covid-19 cases coupled with 86 deaths today, ANI reported, citing state data.
Active cases in Maharashtra now stand at 3,02,923.
West Bengal Registers More Than 4,000 Cases
West Bengal registered 4,494 new Covid-19 cases and 36 deaths in the last 24-hours, ANI reported citing government data.
While the day's positivity rate stands at 7.12%, active cases have topped 80,168.
Karnataka Records Over 41,000 Cases, 52 Deaths
Karnataka recorded 41,400 fresh Covid-19 cases and 52 deaths in the past 24-hours, ANI reported citing government data.
The active cases in the state now stand at 3,50,742.
Kerala Adds Over 55,000 Covid-19 Cases, 70 Deaths
Kerala added 55,475 new Covid-19 cases and 70 deaths in the last 24-hours, ANI reported.
The active cases in the state now stand at 2,85,365.
Mumbai Reports Less Than 2,000 Cases For Second Day
Mumbai reported 1,815 fresh Covid-19 cases in a day coupled with 10 deaths, according to an update from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
Out of the ones reported positive, 1,525 patients were found to be asymptomatic.
The city now has 22,185 active Covid-19 cases.
Delhi Records More Than 6,000 Cases
Delhi recorded 6,028 new Covid-19 cases and 31 deaths in the past 24-hours, ANI reported citing official data.
While the day's positivity rate stood at 10.55%, active cases have topped 42,000.
Will Try To Do Away With Covid Restrictions Soon: Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the state government will soon try to do away with Covid-19 restrictions and will make all efforts to bring the life of the citizens back to normalcy, reported ANI.
Positivity Rate Down By 20% In Last 10 Days, Says Kejriwal
Covid positivity rate has reduced by 20% in the span of the last 10 days said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, reported ANI.
He adds that "today it's about 10%, opposed to 30% positivity rate on January 15." He credits the consistent pace of vaccination for the fall in positivity.
New Cases Drop Below 3 Lakh, Active Cases Fall
Active Covid-19 cases in India fell for the first time in a month, led by a decline in fresh infections for the fourth straight day, even as the Omicron continues to spread.
The nation reported as many as 2.55 lakh new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update on Jan. 25. Daily recoveries stood at 2.67 lakh. That's also the first time since Dec. 28 single-day recoveries have exceeded fresh cases.
The Omicron tally is not updated on the government's PIB website.
