Delhi, Mumbai Impose Fresh Guidelines Amid Rise In Covid-19 Infections

Delhi and Mumbai have announced restrictions as Covid-19 infections are on the rise in both the metropolitan cities.
The Delhi government imposed ‘Level-1’ restrictions and issued a "Yellow Alert" as positivity rate in the national capital crossed 0.5% for two straight days. It reported 331 fresh Covid-19 infections on Dec. 27.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the curbs would come into force as part of a graded response action plan. He said the reported cases are mild and that there was no need for panic.
A night curfew has been imposed from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m., excluding weekends.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation reported 1,377 cases in the last 24 hours, according to an update as on 6 p.m. on Dec. 28. The state government has also issued fresh guidelines.

What's Restricted:
Private offices are allowed to function only at 50% capacity between 9 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Shops in market complexes, malls allowed to remain open between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on odd-even basis. Standalone shops can operate without odd-even restrictions.
Restaurants allowed to function with 50% seating capacity from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Bars allowed to function with 50% seating capacity from 12 noon to 10 p.m.
Sport complexes, swimming pools to remain closed to spectators with sportspersons competing in national or international events allowed to train.
Marriage celebrations, funeral related gatherings to be allowed with 20 persons
Religious places to remain open without visitors
Delhi Metro will be allowed to function with 50% seating capacity, standing passengers will not be allowed. Intra-state buses to be allowed to run with 50% passenger capacity, without standing passengers
What's Allowed:
Shops/establishments dealing with essential goods and services.
Only one authorised weekly market (up to the limit of 50% of allowed vendors) per day, per zone allowed to operate in all three municipal corporations/NDMC/Delhi Cantonment Board.
Delivery of items through e-commerce.
All construction activities, industrial, production and manufacturing units.
Barber shops, salons, beauty parlours.
Public parks to remain open for exercise although picnics and gatherings not allowed.
No more than two passengers allowed in autorickshaws, five in maxi taxis and rural transport vehicles carrying no more than 11 passengers.
Mumbai
No New-Year celebrations in any confined or open space within the Mumbai civic body's jurisdiction.
Gathering of more than five persons not allowed in public spaces between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Weddings and other gatherings or ceremonies to be held with only 100 persons in confined spaces and a maximum of 250 persons in open areas.
For other gatherings, 50% seating to be allowed in permanent seating arrangements and 25% seating in non-permanent seating arrangements.
Restaurants, gyms, spas, cinemas, theatres to operate at 50% capacity.
Sporting events can contain 25% of total seating capacity of spectators.
Only fully vaccinated citizens to be allowed in public spaces.
