Covid-19 Update: India’s Active Caseload Below 15 Lakh, New Cases Continue To Decline
New cases of Covid-19 in India continued to fall in a respite for the country’s healthcare system that were ravaged by a deadly second wave of the virus.
Less than 1.15 lakh people tested positive for the deadly pathogen in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on June 6. Recoveries during the same period remained significantly higher at 1.89 lakh.
Recoveries have not outpaced new cases for 24 days in a row. As a result, active infections fell to 14.7 lakh.
Daily fatality, too, fell below 3,000, with 2,677 patients having succumbed to the disease. India’s total Covid-19 related death stands at 3.46 lakh.

Number of fresh cases in last 24 hours: 1,14,460
One-day recoveries: 1,89,232
One-day deaths: 2,677
Total reported cases across the globe crossed 172.7 million with over 3.7 million as major countries turned their focus towards rapidly completing their immunisation programmes.
