Covid-19 India Updates: Over 44,000 New Cases, 498 Deaths Reported

India's daily Covid-19 infection rate continued to rise with over 44,000 fresh cases being reported for the second day in a row.
As many as 44,658 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 9 a.m. on Aug. 27.
The country's active case load has inched up to 3.44 lakh as daily recoveries, at around 34,000, have remained lower than fresh cases. Active cases now constitute 1.06% of India’s total Covid tally.
