Fresh cases of Covid-19 in India continued to increase as the world's second most populous nation prepares for an imminent third wave.
Nearly 43,000 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's update on Aug. 5. This is the second straight day that daily infections have remained above 42,000.
The active case load also inched up to 4.11 lakh, despite a marginal rise in recoveries.
