India's daily Covid-19 infection rate surged above 40,000 once again, as the world's second most populous nation braces for signs of an imminent third wave.
More than 43,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in a matter of 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's update on July 28. Authorities reported less than 30,000 new cases on the previous day.
Active caseload remains below 4 lakh.
