Fresh cases of Covid-19 in India remain below 40,000 for a third day in a row, at a time states continue to reconcile pandemic-related data.
Nearly 39,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry's update as of 8 a.m on July 14. The country reported 41,000 recoveries during the same period, taking the active caseload marginally below 4.3 lakh.

The daily fatality rate dropped back below 1,000 a day after India recorded 2,020 deaths. Madhya Pradesh had reported an additional 1,481 deaths after district administrations cleared a backlog and uploaded information on the 'Sarthak' portal.
