Covid-19 India Updates: New Cases Drop To 30,000 For First Time In Seven Days

Fresh cases of Covid-19 dropped by a fourth in India, even as researchers warn of a third wave, as early as this month.
Just over 30,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's update on Aug. 3. The daily infection rate fell below 40,000 for the first time in a week.
Nearly 39,000 people recovered during the same period, taking the active case load marginally lower to 4.04 lakh.

Meanwhile, The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Monday issued certain relaxations to the existing lockdown restrictions in the financial capital.
Here are the new Covid guidelines for Mumbai:
All shops and establishments can remain open till 10 p.m. on all days.
Medical stores and chemists can remain open 24x7.
Hotels and restaurants can remain open till 4 p.m. on all days.
All outdoor/indoor sports are allowed, except for swimming and those that require close physical contact.
Filming activity is allowed as per regular hours.
As of Monday, Mumbai had a total of 4,744 active coronavirus cases. The city reported 259 new infections in a day and held an overall recovery rate of 97%, according to the BMC.
