Fresh cases of Covid-19 in India spiked, once again, as the healthcare system braces for the third wave.
More than 42,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's update on Aug. 4. The daily infection rate had dropped to 30,000 the previous day, in what proved to be a brief respite.
The active case load remained above 4 lakh.
