India recorded more than 1,000 deaths in a day due to Covid-19, even as active infections dropped marginally in the country battling the world's second largest outbreak.
1,206 patients succumbed to the deadly pathogen in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on July 10. The nation's total Covid-19 death toll stood at 4.07 lakh.
Nearly 43,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the same period, while more than 45,000 patients recovered. Active infections fell to 4.55 lakh.
