Covid-19 India Updates: Active Cases Drop To 7.60 Lakh, Lowest In 74 Days

India's active Covid-19 cases dropped to 7.60 lakh, the lowest in 74 days, according to the union health ministry’s update on 8 am on June 19.

60,753 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the daily positivity rate to 2.98%. It has been less than 5% for twelve consecutive days, the ministry said.

Recoveries outnumbered daily cases for the 37th consecutive day. The national Covid-19 recovery rate has improved to 96.16%, according to the ministry.

The country's total infections rose to 2.98 crore. The death toll climbed to 3.85 lakh with 1,647 new fatalities.

Further, a total of 19.02 lakh Covid tests were conducted on Friday. The total tests conducted so far for detection of the virus stand at 38.92 crore, the ministry said.
