Covid-19 India Updates: Active Caseload Declines For First Time In Six Days

Fresh cases of Covid-19 in India drops to 30,000 after five days, even as the threat of a third wave persists.

As many as 30,941 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 9 a.m. on Aug. 31. The daily infections rate had remained above the 40,000-mark for the previous five days.

Daily recoveries, at around 36,000, also overtook fresh cases for the first time in seven days. The country's active case load too dropped to 3.70 lakh, about 1.13% of India’s total Covid tally.
