Coronavirus India Updates: Over 93,000 New Cases, Active Caseload Near 7 Lakh

India reported yet another spike in Covid-19 cases with the daily infection tally inching closer to the 1-lakh-mark as the country battles a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

As many as 93,249 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8:00 a.m. on April 4. That’s the highest daily addition since Sept. 19, 2020.

The ministry also reported over 60,000 recoveries and 513 deaths in the same time. India's active case tally rose further to 6.91 lakh, a high last seen on Oct. 23, 2020.
