Coronavirus India Updates: Active Cases Rise; 108 Die In A Day
Covid-19 deaths in India crossed the 100-mark for the first time in six days, while active cases inched up.
The country reported 108 casualties in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1.55 lakh in the world’s second-worst infected country, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Feb. 11, 2021.
India also reported nearly 13,000 fresh Covid-19 cases, which is higher than the 11,764 recoveries reported in the day. This led to a rise in active infections to 1.42 lakh.
To be sure, the number is still small as active cases had crossed 10 lakh mid-September. They account for a mere 1.31% of the total Covid-19 confirmed cases. That’s lower than deaths which account for 1.43%.

The number of healthcare and frontline workers vaccinated against Covid-19 has reached 66.11 lakh on the morning of day 26 of the nationwide inoculation drive.
