Coronavirus India Latest Updates: Vaccination Drive Crosses 100-Crore Milestone, Active Cases Rise

India's nationwide inoculation drive against Covid-19 crossed the 100-crore doses mark, according to CoWIN data.

More than 70% the country's adult population has received a single dose now. But only a quarter has been fully vaccinated.

The milestone came on the day India's active Covid-19 cases rose for the first time since Sept. 25. The daily infection rate also edged past recoveries.

As many as 18,454 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Oct. 19. That compares with 17,561 recoveries during the period. Active cases rose marginally to 1.78 lakh.
